    نعرض في مقالنا رحلة الكولونيل اسكوت من إسبانيا إلى المغرب ثم من زمالة الأمير عبد القادر بعنوان: A journal of residence in the esmailla of Abdelkader, and of travels in Morocco and Algiers, by colonel Scott. كتب الكولونيل اسكوت رحلته في شكل يوميات بداية الأربعينيات من القرن التاسع عشر، نشرت في لندن سنة 1942، ترجمها الدكتور إسماعيل العربي ونشرت سنة 1981م، وهي من النصوص القلائل التي نقلت صورة من عادات وتقاليد المغرب العربي في ظل النظام القبلي، كما نقلت أوضاع المرأة والمسيحيين واليهود وصورة الأمير المؤسطرة في بداية الاستعمار. Abstract: This article which deals with colonel Scott's tour from Spain to Morocco, and then to his colleague emir Abdelkader, is entitled: A journal of residence in the Esmailla of Abdelkader, and of travels in Morocco and Algiers, by colonel Scott. Colonel Scott wrote about his trip in the form of a diary at the beginning of 1940s. this diary was published in London in 1942, and then translated to Arabic by Dr. Ismail El Arabi to be published Arabic version in 1981. As a matter f fact, Scott's ddiary is one of the fewest manuscripts which depicted some customs and traditions of the Arabic Maghreb under the tribal system. Moreover, it exposed the issues of women, Christians jews and more importantly the idolized character of emir Abdelkader especially at the onset of colonialism.
