Abstract

Abstract: The study aimed to identify the most important training needs in the field of counseling skills from the point of view of school and vocational guidance and counseling counselors in the light of the variable professional experience and academic specialization, and to determine the priorities of training in them in the future. To achieve the aim of the study, the two researchers used the counseling skills scale that they prepared on a sample of (36) counsellors. Among its results: The total degree of control over counseling skills was medium, and that there were statistically significant differences in the level of control over knowledge and skills related to school and vocational guidance and counseling. For the variable of academic specialization in favor of the specialization of psychology, and there are statistically significant differences due to the variable of years of experience in favor of the most experienced, as for the priorities of training in the field of counseling skills in which they wish to obtain training in the coming years, they are: student intervention methods, individual counseling theories Theories of professional development, psychometrics, and cohort activation.
