T he hydraulic jump is a phenomenon which characterizes the flow in the open channels. It can occur in the channels with rough beds making it p ossi ble to dissipate the significant kinetic energy. this work will analyze this kind of hydraulic jump producing in rough major beds for rectangular channels of compound section. the parameters influencing the length of the jump have been systematically s tudi ed . the analyzes of the phenomenon were conducted using the genera l jump equation. the experimental data were carried out with the aim of establishing dimensional empirical approaches which vary according to the roughness imposed on the major bed. the s e ad ditional approaches obtained are proposed. The results obtained sh owed that the rough major beds can be used to dissipate the hydraulic energies of the hydraulic jump that occurs in the stilling basins.

CONTRIBUTION OF THE ELECTROCHEMICAL PROCESS IN THE TREATMENT OF PAINT EFFLUENTS
(university of el oued/جامعة الوادي, 2022-10-25) Sabba, Nassila; Belkabla, Mourad; Rokaia, Youcef; Djelal, Hayet; Ahmed, MouradTaleb
Paint discharges contain polluting agents that are highly harmful to the environment. The work proposed makes it possible to apply electrocoagulation as a process for treating paint-based effluents. Two types of paints (water and oil paints) are considered in this study. The electrocoagulation reactor used is equipped with two flat aluminum electrodes. The electrocoagulation process in an acid medium gives a better electrolysis yield allowing a sufficient quantity of ionic coagulant (Al3+) to be obtained. The ionic coagulant will, among other things, considerably reduce the turbidity parameters of the pollution. The depollution process used for the various paints considered in this study makes it possible to conclude that the method is promising on an industrial scale due to the fact that the mud obtained does not have a complex composition either to recycle their rejection or the starting products in nature.

THIN LAYER DRYING STUDY OF ACORNS Querc us ilex L.) NEW MATHEMATICAL MODELLING APPROACH
(university of el oued/جامعة الوادي, 2022-12-16) rachi, Mamhmoud T; agaz, Hind M; ahsas, Roumaissa M
T he thin layer drying behaviour of acorns was investigated at three oven temperatures (60, 70 and 80 °C). The drying kinetic was fitted and modelled using di ff e rent mathematical drying models. The use of First Order (FO) and Pseudo First Order (PFO) was proposed and estimated for describe the moisture content evolution of acorns as a function of time. According the coefficient of determination R² ), the root m ea n square error ( RMSE ) and the sum mean of square error (  ² ), t he best fit was given by the L ogarithmic model. A good fit R² > 0.9942; RMSE < 2.238 and  ² < 6.014) was shown by FO and PFO indicating their aptitude to describe the thin layer drying kineti c o f acorns E ffective moisture diffusivity increased from 4.016  10  8 to 1.244  10  7 m² s  1 with the rice of drying tem perature. T he elimination of water from the acorns requires an activation energy of about 55 kJ mol 

EVALUATION OF THE SEISMIC RESPONSE OF STORAGE TANKS IN INDUSTRIAL AREAS IN ALGERIA
(university of el oued/جامعة الوادي, 2022-12-17) Baba Hamed, Fatima Zohra
The analysis of the seismic response of tanks is important in risk assessment in industrial areas because the spillage of liquids can trigger other catastrophic phenomena due to the loss of con t ainment. Therefore, seismic assessment should focus on leakage based limit states. This article discusses the analysis of the seismic response of reservoirs subjected to seismic actions on the basis of a simplified procedure. The procedure takes into a cco u nt impulsive and convective actions of liquid in storage tanks. The seismic responses (sloshing wave height) are calculated using the response spectra of the different sites. The response spectra are determined on the basis of the Algerian paraseismic reg u lation RPA99 Version 2003.

EXPIREMENTAL ANALYSIS OF DIELCTRIC BARRIER DISCHARGE FACTORS ON OZONE PRODUCTION FOR FOOD STORAGE
(university of el oued/جامعة الوادي, 2022-12-17) Bellebna, Yassin e; Dida, Ame l
Ozone, a powerful oxidant, is effective against various kinds of microorganisms on fruits, vegetables, meat grains and their p rodu cts. The best way to generate ozone was to use dielectric barrier discharge (DBD) at atmospheric pressure. This discharge is a little specific kind because one electrode is covered by a dielectric material, thereby preventing the discharge to move tow a rds electrical breakdown. The aim of this paper has to study and identify the best concentration of ozone generated by DBD which give a better result on increasing on shelf life of food products. Obtained results pointed out that investigated parameters o f DB D have significant effect in ozone production and also for preservation of shelf life of food product for around 20 PPM without using cold treatment chamber.
