    EFFECT OF THE SANDS CLOSE TO THE MASCARA REGION IN THE MANUFACTURE OF SELF-COMPACTING MORTARS

    Sand plays a very important role during the manufacture of concrete and mortar for the need of civil engineering and building. It influences both the properties of cementary materials in the fresh state and in the hardened state. The objective of this work is the development of self-compacting mortars with the various sands existing in the region of the city of Mascara for the main study of mechanical performance. Six sands were used for this purpose: three natural sands and three crushed sands. The tests carried out during this research are: physical tests, tests in the fresh state and tests on hardened mortars. The results to which our research has led is that self-compacting mortars made with crushed sands give a granular skeleton with high compactness and superior mechanical performance compared to self-compacting mortars made with natural sands.

    WATER IN THE KSOURS: WHAT GENIUS? CASE OF TIMIMOUN AND TIOUT (ALGERIA)

    What a genius, building a home for more than 10 centuries in the Sahara desert with all the necessary amenities to withstand a hyper-arid climate like that of Timimoun and Tiout. During our work missions during the period: 2000-2019 in the south-west of the Sahara, we were interested in the feeding of Timimoun ksours by the foggaras. This study shows that feeding ksar water remains an unresolved problem for the ksouriens of the Sahara. Two success stories in this area of water have been cited in this paper. These are the ksours of Timimoun which are fed by the foggaras. The ksar of Tiout was supplied with water by an ancestral dam. These are the two cases of the Sahara that have benefited from water with zero energy. These two examples demonstrate the ingenuity of the ksours population. If after ten centuries, the oasis have managed to master the architecture of the ksours, against the supply of ksar in water has shortcomings.

    THEORETICAL STUDY OF THE REACTIVITY OF MONURON AND ITS PROTONATED FORMS

    A theoretical study of 3-(4-Chlorophenyl)-1,1-dimethylurea and its protonated isomers has been carried out, to emphasize the experimental results of the electrostatic interactions in the herbicide models, for investigating the implications taking place on the structural parameters starting from the gaseous phase to the aqueous one. It has been found that its functionalized structure gives us three protonated targets. The calculations has been performed on both neutral and protonated forms using Density Functional Theory (DFT) with the hybrid functional B3LYP. Many molecular parameters have been studied. To identify the reactive sites, our study has focused on the local and the global reactivity descriptors explaining the chemical reactivity. The calculations have demonstrated that the attacks on the aliphatic branched exocyclic positions are privileged to those of the aromatic ring. Studying the solvent effect has revealed that there is a change in the hierarchy of the electrophilicity. Various vibrational modes have been exploited to discuss the literary spectroscopic data.

    THE ASSESSMENT OF COMPATIBILITY OF WASTEWATER TREATED BY NATURAL LAGOON WITH DISCHARGE AND IRRIGATION STANDARDS. CASE STUDY

    In order to protect the environment and the groundwater against pollution, we dealt with one of the problems in the world, regarding the treatment of wastewater and the possibility of reuse with irrigation. We studied the case of the Kef Eddouken natural lagoon treatment plant in Ghardaia (southern Algeria). For this reason we studied the physico-chemical, bacteriological and parsitological parameter of waste and treated water. The results of the analysis show that all the previous parameters comply with the Algerian standard of rejection except electrical conductivity, suspended matter and BOD5. On the other hand, despite the electrical conductivity exceeds the limit, but it corresponds to the SAR value; according to the Algerian and the international standard of irrigation, this quality of water can be used sub-irrigation for vegetable which eaten only cooked.

    TEMPORAL VARIATION OF THE WATER QUALITY OF A PERMANENT WATERCOURSE: CASE OUED BOUSSELAM

    In order to assess the degree of pollution of surface water from Boussalem river from the city of Setif, we conducted during 2014; a study of physical and chemical characteristics of surface water. The results showed that water is loaded into mineral matter in terms of electrical conductivity (Avg = 1059,18 μS/cm ± 631,7), in turbidity (Avg = 15,713 NTU ± 22,19), in TSS (Avg = 189 mg/l ± 119,5), with low dissolved oxygen (Avg = 2,98 mg/l ± 2 ,44). The pH is closed to neutrality (Avg = 7,78 ± 0,74), the temperature is 17°C ± 11,13). Also, one revealed according to the results which water of Bousselam river is bad according to the quality standards of surface water and this is directly related to factors anthropic.

    ROLE GLOBULARIA IN THE INHIBITION OF CALCIUM OXALATE CRYSTALLIZATION IN VITRO STUDY

    Plant extracts are known to modulate calcium oxalate (CaOx) crystallization. One of these is Globularia, the root and flower. Medicinals plants has been demonstrated to be an efficient inhibitor of CaOx crystal growth; however, its inhibitory activity against other events in CaOx crystallization has not been fully investigated. To assess the potential of Globularia as an effective inhibitor, its effects on CaOx crystal nucleation and aggregation were evaluated. Nucleation and aggregation of CaOx crystals were studied by artificial urine is prepared by mixing and stirring two equal volumes of 50 ml of solutions A and B at constant temperature (37°C). In the nucleation assay, crystallization was induced by mixing calcium chloride and sodium oxalate, The addition of extracts Globularia flower and root , acts on the phase of growth crystallisation ; the rate of inhibition capacity in concentration 100 % is 96.09% , and 96.77% for concentration 75% respectively, On note that these inhibitors developed an inhibition important on the low concentration. Globularia is an efficient inhibitor of crystal nucleation and aggregation. Its presence in the kidneys and urine may protect subjects against CaOx crystallization and kidney stone formation.

    Bioactive substances are responsible for therapeutic properties of the plant in folk medicine. They have actions in the body that may promote good health. They are being studied in the prevention of disease. The present investigation is focused on screening of bioactive substances present in the various parts (leaves, stems, and grains) of Solanum nigrum. Qualitative tests for the presence of phytochemicals in different extracts using solvants with different polarity such as methanol, chloroform, petroleum ether and aqueous extracts. Phytochemical investigation indicated the presence of various groups of compouds including alkaloids, flavonoids, tannins, coumarins, sterols and triterpenoids, saponins. Solanum nigrum L. acts an important role in traditional medicine and represent natural source of biactives compounds.

    Endophytic fungi live inside plant tissues and increase their resistance to abiotic and biotic factors. Our work is concerned with interannual variations of mycoendophyte diversity of leaves of Pistacia atlantica Desf. of dayate Aiat, in the region of Laghouat (Algeria) and this for the spring of 2013 and 2016. The morphological identification revealed the presence of 26 fungal genera. The difference in diversity is very significant between the two years of sampling, according to calculated Shannon Weaver indices. Based on principal component analysis, the distribution of these leaf microorganisms is influenced by the climatic conditions of the study area. Aspergillus and Epicoccum are dominant for 2013. In 2016, Aspergillus and Cladosporium dominate. The persistence of Aspergillus gives it an important role in the fight against the stress suffered by the leaf of Pistacia atlantica.
