The study aimed at investigating the impact of the financial structure on the financial
performance in Dubai Islamic Bank during the time period 2001 to 2022, and by relying on VAR
model. Two main tools were used for the analysis: the analysis of variance decomposition factor
and the impulse response function.
The study found a significant relationship between financial structure and financial
performance. The findings indicated that debt to equity ratio had a negative impact on return on
equity in both the short and long term, whereas the equity to total assets ratio had a negative effect
on return on equity in the short term, but a positive effect in the long term. Additionally, the study
found that debt to equity ratio had a negative impact on return on assets in both the short and long
term. Furthermore, the occurrence of short and long-term shocks in equity negatively influenced
the rate of return on assets
