Abstract
The purpose of this study is to find out the relationship between the
mechanisms used by the opposition in the Algerian Parliament which are
represented by the oversight committees, Oral and written questions,
Questioning and proposing laws and the performance of the parliamentary
institution with its four dimensions: Legislative power, oversight function, financial
function and influence of public opinion. Based on a major question:
Is there a significant correlation between the mechanisms of opposition and the
functioning of the parliamentary institution in the Algerian parliament? 2012-
2017. we assumed a main point that there is a significant correlation between
the mechanisms that used by the opposition in the Algerian parliament and the
performance of the legislative institution.
In addition, with the nature and objectives of the subject of the study which were
held to clarify the performance status of the Algerian Parliament and its
relationship with the opposition's representation in the parliament of the
mechanisms that it is used in the Legislative Council, We used descriptive
methods to collect, classify and analyze information and processed statistically
through the SPSS program. This was applied to the opposition deputies
representing the study community. We conducted a comprehensive survey
based on the questionnaire tool to obtain the data accurately.
The following results were obtained:
There is no significant correlation between the monitoring committees
established by the opposition and the performance of the parliament.
