Abstract

The objective of this study was to compare of quality characteristics fruits of some peanut (Arachis hypogaea L.) varieties grown as a main crop in zone el oued. The selection of varieties was based on the length of the life cycle (six month variety v6, four month variety v4 and three month variety v3). The fruits of the 2020 crop were subjected to an assessment of the morphological characteristics of the fruit and seed (weight, size, shape, length and topography) in addition to the seed-to-fruit ratio. the results showed differences between the three varieties in several characteristics. The results showed the moral superiority of the variety (v3) over the rest of the cultivars in terms of the ratio of seed weight to fruit by (64.77%), while the variety (v6) was significantly superior in fruit length by (4.96 cm) and seed length by (2.24 cm) and average The weight of the seeds was (0.09 g), and variety (4) was not superior to the two cultivars. The results also showed the presence of multiple non-significant differences for the three varieties in terms of fruit suffocation, texture and shape of the threads, color and size of the seeds, while there was no difference in the thickness and length of the grooves .
