dc.description.abstractAbstract: Title: The effectiveness of program based on the use of meta cognitive skills in developing emotional and social intelligence among a sample of mothers of children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD). The current study aimed to reveal the effectiveness of program based on the use of meta cognitive skills in developing emotional and social intelligence among a sample of mothers of children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD). To achieve this, a counseling program consisting of (14) sessions was built, which was applied to a sample of (32) mothers of children with autism spectrum disorder distributed randomly into two groups, an experimental group comprising (16) mothers and a control group comprising (16) mothers. The descriptive correlative method and the experimental method with the design of the two groups (experimental and control) were used with a pre- and post-measurement using the Meta cognitive Skills Scale (Hadba, 2014), and the Emotional and Social Intelligence Scale (Geija and Mansour, 2015) after confirming their psychometric properties. After conducting the statistical processing of the study data to reveal the relationship between meta cognitive skills, emotional and social intelligence, and the differences between groups and testing the measure of the impact of the counseling program prepared for this study, the study reached the following results: - There is a correlation between meta cognitive skills and emotional and social intelligence among mothers. - There are differences between the mean scores of the experimental group in the pre- and post-measurement on the measures of metacognitive skills and emotional and social intelligence in favor of the post-measurement, as well as differences between the scores of the control group and the scores the experimental group on the post-measurement of meta-cognitive skills and emotional and social intelligence in favor of the group Experimental. - There are no differences between the mean scores of the experimental group in the post and follow-up measurements on the emotional and social intelligence scale.en_US
