This dissertation aims to study Atriplex halimus L., locally known as "Guetf", through two main approaches: a survey to investigate the local population’s knowledge and traditional uses of the plant, and a physiological study to analyze some of its biochemical characteristics. The samples were collected from the El-Hamraïa region (El Oued Province), and the aerial parts of the plant were used after being dried in the sun and then in the shade. The survey results revealed a widespread use of the plant in traditional medicine, especially for treating digestive disorders, high blood pressure, and some reproductive system issues. The physiological analysis showed that the plant possesses notable environmental and biochemical features, making it a promising candidate for medicinal and nutritional applications.
