American Social Welfare Policy: Current Issues and Future Perspectives

Abstract

This study aims to present the current state and future prospects of social welfare policy in the United States with a focus on pressing issues and possible paths forward. It sheds light on the opportunities and challenges associated with changing American social welfare policy to promote a more equitable and inclusive society. The study employs documentary research design to explore and analyze data within official documents and utilizes historical research design to provide a historical account of past events and changes within American society. The main findings of the study include that Inequality persists across economic, racial, and gender lines despite efforts to address it. The housing crisis needs long-term solutions. Discrimination impacts social welfare access, requiring comprehensive strategies. Poverty, driven by inadequate wages and unemployment, demands effective policies. Healthcare reform is needed for accessibility and affordability.
