| dc.description.abstract | يعد الإسلام ثاني اكبر ديانة في بريطانيا حيث بلغ عدد المسلمين الثلاث ملايين مسلم اغلبهم من أصول باكستانية و بنغلادشية و يعيش معظمهم في انجلترا و ينقسمون إلى ثلاث فئات أساسية هي: السنة, الشيعة و الاحمدية. و قد بدأت أولى تيارات الهجرة إلى المملكة المتحدة في القرن الثامن عشر من البنغال عن طريق شبه القارة الهندية. يشارك المسلمون في بريطانيا في الحياة الاجتماعية بنشاط ولهم حضور ملموس على مختلف المستويات حيث ساهموا في إدراج بعض معالم الديانة الإسلامية كالمساجد و البنوك الإسلامية كما آن لهم تأثيرا معتبرا من حيث اللغة و نمط الحياة إضافة إلى مشاركتهم في مجالي الفنون و الموسيقى و كذا الرياضة بأنواعها. يندرج العمل التطوعي و التضامني كذلك ضمن إسهامات المسلمين حيث أكد مركز الإحصاء البريطاني Census أن معدل تبرعات المسلمين يصل إلى 38جنيه إسترليني في الثانية . علاوة على ذلك, للمسلمين دور هام في الحياة السياسية بدءًا من القاعدة حتى قمة هرم الحياة السياسية، فقد وصل 15 نائبا مسلما إلى مجلس العموم البريطاني في الانتخابات الأخيرة وبينهم نساء بزيادة نائبين عن الدورة السابقة. وضمت قائمة نواب حزب العمال المعارض 12 نائبا مسلما بينما نجح 3 على قائمة حزب المحافظين الحاكم. وهناك 11 عضوا مسلما في مجلس اللوردات البريطاني، البعض منهم أعضاء في الأحزاب وآخرون مستقلون، 5 نساء 6 و رجال. وأبرز المسلمات في المجلس سعيدة وارسي و كانت أول مسلمة تتولى منصبا وزاريا في الحكومة البريطانية. رغم مشاركتهم الفاعلة على الصعيدين الاجتماعي و السياسي, ظهر ما يسمى بالاسلاموفوبيا و الهجمات المعادية للمسلمين و الجرائم العرقية مما أدى لصعوبة اندماج الأقليات المسلمة في المجتمع البريطاني. This dissertation investigates the contribution of Muslim minorities in the British political and social life during the second half of the twentieth century. Muslims engaged in the British social and political life since their migration to Britain. This influence still shapes the political mobilization and social side. Muslims participation sparked debates about the degree of contribution; hence, there is a need to a study that is aimed to explore the main aspects of their participation in both British policy and society as well as to measure its extent throughout the second half of the 20th century. To fulfill the dissertation's objectives, both descriptive and historical methods are utilized. The study revealed that Muslims contributed in the social life through charitable actions, language, dress, food, artistic works, different kinds of sports as well as religion in which they are part of numerous cases of Islam conversion. They are considered as ambassadors of Islam in a non- Muslim society. They contributed in the political life mostly via political parties and both chambers of the parliament. They preside higher offices and organizations as being mayors and ministers. | en_US |
