Abstract

Abstract Environmental problems are diverse and have become a real threat to humans and life, but international and regional efforts have combined to pay attention to environmental protection and environmental resources. Among the ways in which this concept has been incorporated into the educational system and curriculum. This study aimed to identify the most important environmental concepts included in the content of the first year of average geography book and it also revealed the extent. The problem of the study identified in the following main question : - What are the environmental concepts in the geography book for the first year of average in the Algerian school? From the main question ، the following minor questions were derived: a- What are the concepts of the ecosystem in the book of geography for the first year of average in the Algerian school? b- What are the concepts related to the preservation of the environmental in the book of geography for the first year of average in the Algerian school? c- What are the concepts that include environmental problems in the book of geography for the first year of average in the Algerian school ? d- What are the concepts that address the exploitation of environmental resources in the book of geography for the first year of average in the Algerian school? To answer the study question the researcher used desriptive analytical approach in this study using content analysis ( content) where he analyes the content of books geography for the first year of average in the Algerian school using content analysis tool which included38 environmental concepts issue. The study found a number of results was the followingthe concepts of the ecosystem in the book of geography for the first year of average in the Algerian school was positive The concepts discussed in the book include the problems of the environmental, the relationship between man and his environmental, and the ecosystem. the concepts that include environmental problems Concepts covered in the book include soil and plant problems , Water problems, drifting, and overfishing uses are positive. the concepts related to the preservation of the environmental in the book of geography for the first year of average in the Algerian school Concepts covered in the book include an example of animal, water, plant, soil, energy, and metal uses are positive. the concepts that address the exploitation of environmental resources include an example of The result is weak in terms of other concepts and the most important content is the preservation of environmental resources and the protection of facilities and trees, and the purpose of geography to describe the surface of the earth, and study the relationship to the human environment
