Abstract

This dissertation examines a socio-political study of Ghassan Kanafani's "Men in The Sun" within the framework Literature of Resistance, utilising the intersection between Postcolonialism and Marxist theories. It highlight the challenges faced by Palestinians, through themes of economic exploitation, identity and displacement, resistance, and class struggle, also it focuses on the effect of Nakbah in improving Palestinian literature. The qualitative analysis of the novel provides textual analysis into Kanafani's narrative, exploring characters, symboles and images of the novel , which reflects hope and misery of Palestinian people. This study portrays the impacts of the socio-political, economic, and cultural transformation on Palestinians identity. Characters and symboles reflect the real situation of Palestinians under occupation, and their desire for freedom and better life.
