Abstract

This study aims to use to detect and report some vehicles metabolism secondary to four types of plants, competition for agricultural crops are Cyperus rotundus, Chenopodium murale , Sonchus asper and Convolvulus arvensis, as well as to estimate the activity of antioxidant test DPPH.* -In our study we relied on water extracts, first the results of the detection showed that the water extracts of the four plants studied contains both polyphenols and flavonoids, When estimating each of these two compounds, we found a discrepancy between the four plants Where the plant Chenopodium mural showed the largest amount of polyphenols, followed by Cyperus rotundus, and then Convolvulus arvensis in a lesser amount, and the very low amount was in Sonchus asper plant. Regarding flavonoids, Chenopodium murale showed a large amount compared to the rest of the plants, and slightly less than it was Convolvulus arvensis, then Sonchus asper with a very low amount, and Cyperus rotundus the amount was almost non-existent. -In estimating the antioxidant activity by testing DPPH* the aqueous extracts of the four plants showed the antioxidant efficacy of the four plant extracts studied and with values of approximately IC 50 , Whereas IC50 was elevated in Chenopodium murale and slightly lower in Convolvulus arvensis , then with a slight difference Cyperus rotundus then Sonchus asper These results are generally high when compared to The IC 50value of ascorbic acid
