Abstract

The study aimed to reveal the relationship between school violence and poor academic achievement and try to find out if there is a relationship between the two variables. The questions raised in the study were as follows Are students exposed to physical violence by the teacher because of their poor academic achievement ? Are students exposed to verbal violence by the teacher because of their poor academic achievement ? Are students exposed to symbolic violence by the teacher because of their poor academic achievement ? The hypotheses have been formulated as follows There is a relationship between the physical violence practiced by the teacher and the poor academic achievement of the students . There is a relationship between teachers who practice symbolic violence on students and the poor academic achievement of students . There is a relationship between the verbal violence practiced by the teacher and the poor academic achievement of the students . We have used the descriptive approach that describes the phenomenon under study, as it is in reality, by collecting data facts and then classifying and analyzing them to reach the results . We relied on the questionnaire as a data collection tool We used the simple random sample in the study, as the sample size was estimated at 80 individuals, or 19.70% of the study population as a whole .
