Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of the aqueous extract and the oil extract of the Eucalyptus plant, with the possibility of using it as an insecticide against aphids. The aqueous extract of the leaves of the Eucalyptus plant was prepared by soaking and cutting, and the oil extract of the leaves of the Eucalyptus plant was prepared using a Kelvinator device. Five successive concentrations of the aqueous extract (mg1) were tested,(mg1.5, mg5, mg10, mg20) and four successive concentrations of the oil extract (15µl,10 µl, 7.5µl,5µl) The treatment was carried out on the aphids by direct spraying, and observation was carried out at two intervals of 24 and 48 hours. The results showed that the eucalyptus leaf extracts had a toxic effect on the aphids, especially at concentrations of 20mg in the water extract and at concentrations of 15µl in the oil extract, where the death rate reached 100%. The results also showed that time has a clear effect on the death rate, and this is explained by the 48-hour results (i.e., the death rate increases over time) .
