هدفت هذه المداخلة إلى توضيح مفهوم النظرية الاجتماعية في الاختيار الدراسي والمهني والعوامل المؤثرة في عملية الاختيار باعتبارها عملية مهمة في التوجيه المدرسي والمهني، وإن نجاح هذه العملية يترتب عليه نجاح عملية التوجيه ككل، خاصة مع قلة الأعمال العلمية التي تتطرق إلى هذه النظرية مقارنة بالنظريات الشخصية المفسرة للاختيار.
