Education has passed through two important stages. At the beginning, traditional institutions appeared: housing homes, After the idea of education was crystallized among Muslims, new institutions were established to teach various sciences and legal sects, known as schools, as they played an important civilizational role, and they were replaced by universities at the present time. mosques, katatib , libraries, hospital centers, khawaniq ,Arbitat ,Zawaya. Its first appearance dates back to Mesopotamia, which was the cradle of science since ancient times, the first in the 5th century AH / 11AD CE, which was established by the Seljuk Minister Nizam al-Mulk in Baghdad, then the Mustansiriya School built by the Caliph Al-Mustansir Billah Al-Abbasi in 625 AH / 1225 AD, which is considered the most complete and developed model of the school system. Through this humble research paper, we will try to define this school from an archaeological and descriptive study, and highlight its civilizational role during its founding period.
