Abstract
تهدف الدراسة الحالية لمحاولة التعرف عن مراحل التطور التاريخي للمجال العام، فتم التطرق إلى كل من مفهوم المجال العام وأهم خصائصه ووظائفه، وكذا الفرق بين المجال العام والمجال الخاص، وأخيرا المراحل التاريخية التي مر بها المجال العام حسب هابرماس. وقد تبين أن المجال العام في بدايته تكون من خلال تجمع الناس في المقاهي والصالونات لمناقشة القضايا والمواضيع التي تهمهم التي كانت في البداية مرتبطة بالمواضيع الأدبية ثم تحولت تدريجيا للمواضيع السياسية، وكان يشترط في هؤلاء الناس أن يكونوا من طبقة برجوازية مثقفة، لكن مع التحولات التي مست الافراد والمجتمعات مع مرور الزمن أصبح يشارك في المجال العام جميع الأفراد وذلك لمناقشة ما يمسهم من قضايا. Abstract: The current study aims to identify the stages of the historical development of the public
sphere. The concept of the public sphere and its most important characteristics and functions were
addressed, as well as the difference between the public sphere and the private sphere, and finally
the historical stages that the public sphere went through.
The emergence of the public sphere was linked to the educated bourgeoisie, through the literary
salons that were set up in their homes. At first, discussions were about literary and social issues,
then turned to discussing political issues. Then the discussion moved from these salons to cafes and
public places, but these discussions remained linked to the educated class, from the male category
to the exclusion of females. But with the transformations that affected individuals and societies
over time, all individuals became involved in the public sphere in order to discuss the issues that
affect them. With the increasing participation of some passive and educated parties in the
discussions and dialogues that take place within this field, as well as due to governments’ control
of the various media and directing them, the public sphere collapsed, but the emergence of the
Internet revived it.
