Abstract
This paper proposes the integration of a Z-Source Inverter
(ZSI)-based Shunt Active Power Filter (SAPF) with a Photovoltaic
(PV) system to enhance power quality. The ZSI offers significant
advantages over traditional inverters, including improved boost
functionality, reduced harmonics, and higher performance. The
SAPF control in this study utilizes a trigonometric method, with a
proportional-integral (PI) controller employed to regulate the DClink voltage. The primary objective of this paper is to eliminate total
harmonic distortion (THD) in the source current. To validate the
proposed method, extensive simulations were conducted using
MATLAB/Simulink under various operating conditions. The results
obtained provide conclusive evidence of the effectiveness of the
proposed approach in achieving its objectives
