Abstract

This study aimed to analyze and measure the impact of oil price fluctuations on public expenditures in Algeria for the period (1990-2020). To achieve this goal, we dealt in its part with general concepts about the price of oil and public expenditures, and then we addressed the analysis of the development of public expenditures in light of price fluctuations. Oil during the period under study. As for the standard aspect, we used the (ARDL) model to estimate the effect of the price of oil on public expenditures in Algeria. The results obtained showed that the price of oil has a positive impact on public expenditures, as a 1% increase in the price of oil leads to an increase in public expenditures by 0.93%. The study also presented a set of recommendations, the most important of which is that Algeria must work to find alternative sources of fuel revenues, Searching for ways to diversify economically.
