ًٝزُي ٖٓ خالٍ قغحخ دُ٤ َجُطرِٞس)CI )ضر٤ ٖضكغٖ دسؾس ضرِٞس ٓحدز جٌُٞجسضض.During this work, we first studied the structural and chemical
characteristics of the natural sand material by using some spectroscopic
methods such as X-ray spectroscopy (XRD), Fourier transforms infrared
spectroscopy (FTIR), and scanning electron microscopy (MEB/EDX)
techniques. These methods confirmed that the studied sand consisted
mainly of α-phase quartz (SiO2) by 81%, in addition to a small
percentage of calcite (CaCO3) and aluminum oxide Al2O3. Chemical
treatment of this sample with hydrochloric acid proved that the acid
concentration, temperature, and treatment time had a direct effect on the
purity of the quartz mineral-forming sand. Also, through the
Crystallization Index (CI) it was found that the degree of crystallization
of quartz was improved
