Abstract

This paper strive to define the practices and programs that universities should adopt to create an attractive and sustainable entrepreneurial ecosystem. This approach aligns with the shift towards the entrepreneurial university paradigm, which has become a driver of innovation and a key factor in fostering economic and social development. In order to discuss the problematic of this study, a descriptive analytical methodology was used to demonstrate the evolution of the concept of university-based entrepreneurial ecosystem and the conditions required for transitioning to the entrepreneurial university paradigm. This study examined one of the most successful European academic incubators "The Viadrina Founders Center" located in Germany. The results demonstrated a direct influence of the university on creating a supportive start-up ecosystem through implementing a set of policies, training and field programs that would provide students and alumni with the strategic resources, support and infrastructure necessary for their start-ups creation.
