Abstract

This study, within the context of entrepreneurship, examines the relationship between transformational and transactional leadership and risk-taking in petroleum service organizations in the Hassi R'mel industrial zone in Algeria. It considers inspirational motivation, idealized influence, individual considerations, and intellectual stimulation as dimensions of transformational leadership, and management by exception and contingent reward as dimensions of transactional leadership. Additionally, it includes laissez-faire. The study employs a questionnaire and interviews as measurement tools, and sample of (98) individuals distributed among three entrepreneurial organizations. Data analysis is conducted using structural equation modeling based on partial least squares using the SmartPLS4 software. The study concludes that there is a weak correlation between risk-taking and transformational and transactional leadership. It recommends the necessity of accepting risk within the framework of innovation, proactiveness, and risk-taking in combination, Furthermore, it suggests expanding the adoption of transformational and transactional leadership as a compatible leadership style with entrepreneurial orientation.
