ملخص: يسلط هذا المقال الضوء على مختلف الألقاب الملكية المستعملة من قبل حكام وملوك بلاد النهرين، وهو ذو أهمية كبيرة للباحثين في دراستهم، إذ يعطى صورة حول طبيعة النظام ومراحل تطوره، كما تعكس تلك الألقاب السياسية المنزلة السياسية وموقع أي من حملة تلك الصفات ودورهم في قيادة المجتمع، سواء سلطاتهم أو واجباتهم ونظرة النّاس نحوهم، بل وتعكس الشرط التحولي المرتبط بانتقال السلطة وبشكل تدريحي من رجال الدّين ممثلين في الكهنة إلى حكام المدينة والدول والإمبراطوريات، وهو في حد ذاته نتيجة حتمية ونهائية لتَغيير وتَطوير المجتمع.
