Abstract

"Recently, many researchers have proven the ability of agricultural wastes and by-products as adsorbent materials or to remove many types of pollutants including hydrocarbons, due to their low cost and abundance in nature. In this work we have prepared active materials, from agricultural residues that have been chemically activated by different acids (H3PO4, H2SO4 and HNO3). Physico-chemical characterizations (MEB, DRX and FTIR) of the prepared activated carbons were carried out showing their amorphous structure rich in carbon with change of porosity passing from crude to activated.
