Abstract
This paper examines the role of e-government policies in promoting the digital economy in
Algeria. It examines Algeria’s progress in implementing digital government services and
developing its digital strategy to support economic transformation. The study uses indicators such
as the e-Government Development Index (EGDI) to assess Algeria’s position globally. Key
developments in Algeria’s digital landscape are examined, including the expansion of internet
connectivity, the growth of e-commerce channels, and the emergence of digital financial services
The paper finds the relationship between e-government efforts and the dynamics of the digital
economy In Algeria. While challenges remain, the continued growth of digital government
capabilities and infrastructure provides an enabling environment for the expansion of the digital
economy. The study highlights opportunities to further develop e-government and the digital
economy in Algeria through strategic planning and investment in infrastructure
