The different equivalent circuits of the photovoltaic cell are defined by the implicit nonlinear equations. In the literature several methods are available that help to solve these equations. This article examines and compares four different methods, i.e., four parameter (M4P), five parameters (M5P1, M5P2), and seven parameters (M7P) commonly used in solving nonlinear equations. The accuracy of these models is verified using three types of photovoltaic solar modules; monocrystalline, polycrystalline and thin layers. The successful results show that the five-parameter model (M5P1) is the most accurate model.
