Abstract

This research aims to shed light on the role of crowdfunding as a modern method for funding rural development projects, with a focus on the American platform Kiva as a case study. The study initially delved into the theoretical concepts of crowdfunding, its functioning, the models used, and the theoretical framework of rural development. Subsequently, the study examined the Kiva platform, describing its operations, how to benefit from its funding, and the areas it supports. Additionally, the study addressed the platform's global impact on rural development by presenting statistics related to its role in funding rural development projects, particularly in agriculture, health, and education, which are key areas targeted for improvement in rural development.
