Abstract

The issue of heritage has taken a great deal of interest among scholars in various sciences, for it is a matter related to man and knowledge and its relationship to time and place, on the one hand, and it is one of the conditions for renaissance and rebirth in light of the debate of authenticity and contemporary, on the other. The process of reviving the folk heritage and adhering to it has become a necessity to prove identity, origin, belonging and existence, as it is the link between the past and the present to cross into the future. In this vein, the contemporary Algerian novelist has tended to inspire this popular heritage as it is the memory of peoples and thus move from the familiar to the unfamiliar through employing it in fictional texts which prompted us to search for the secret of his presence in contemporary Algerian fictional works, to reveal the aesthetic and intellectual dimensions that he added within these texts.
