Abstract

In a world in which international organizations and regional blocks dominate the world economy, African countries have stepped up their efforts since the 1960s to combine efforts and achieve an economic renaissance able to respond to today's economic challenges. This vision has been affirmed through several continental and regional initiatives, the latest one was Africa's Development Agenda 2063 in which states are committed to the economic integration of Africa. In this regard, the Africa Regional integration index ARII has been developed jointly by AU, UNECA and AfDB in order to provide a multi-dimensional perspective of the degree of integration and convergence between African’s nations policies in different fields, This research aims to explain this tool and analyze its results.
