dc.description.abstractIn this work we synthesized a series of N-(ferrocenylmethyl) nitroaniline starting from the quaternary salt ferrocenylmethyltrimethylammonium iodide and the corresponding nitoraniline, the obtained products were acylated using different acylating reagents. All obtained derivatives were characterised by usual spectroscopic and electrochemical techniques. The antioxidant activity of synthesized compounds were evaluated using electrochemical and spectrophotochemical methods, in the former the superoxyde anion radicals were used and in the later 1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl - DPPH - radicals were used. The free bending energy between the two radicals and the studied potential antioxidant compounds were determined from electrochemical and spectrophotochemical data. In addition the antimutagenic activity was evaluated by studding the interaction between deoxyribonucleic acid and the synthesized derivatives, also the binding parameters such as free binding energy and ratio of binding constant were calculated from electrochemical data and validated by electronic spectroscopy. The bending sites sizes of bounded derivatives with deoxyribonucleic acid were calculated from cyclic voltametry experiments. To further confirm the interaction between deoxyribonucleic acid and the synthesized derivatives the coefficient diffusion of free and bounded forms of the compounds with deoxyribonucleic acid was calculated from electrochemical data.
