Documenting Citations And Data Of Information Sources In The Humanities And Social Sciences According To My Standards

Abstract

This study aims to introduce the most important standards adopted in scholarly documentation for citations and bibliographic data from information sources in the fields of humanities and social sciences. Despite the diversity of scholarly documentation methods in humanities and social sciences, the standards of the American Psychological Association (APA) and the documentation standard issued by the Modern Language Association (MLA) are the most commonly used among researchers in the field. The study delves into the rules of citation and data referencing outlined by these two standards. The study concludes with the necessity of regulating the reliance on scholarly documentation standards in humanities and social sciences for writing and conveying information accurately, contributing to the quality of scientific research and increasing its visibility.
