تعد الطاقة المتجددة من بين أساليب تحقيق تنمية مستدامة متكاملة، وذلك من خلال تبني استراتيجية متوسطة وبعيدة الأمد تقوم على استخدام طاقة نظيفة ومتجددة تحقق أهداف التنمية الحالية وتحافظ على حقوق الأجيال المستقبلية سواء في طاقتهم التقليدية أو حقهم في العيش في بيئة نظيفة. وهذا ما اقتنعت به إمارة أبو ظبي من خلال تبنيها لمدينة مصدر كنموذج نظيف ومتكامل للحياة تحضيرا لتوسيعه لكامل الإمارة، في حين تعرف الجزائر تأخرا ملحوظا في التبني الجاد لهذه الاستراتيجية بالرغم من تنوع وتميز الإمكانيات التي تملكها The renewable energy is one of the methods that seeks to achieve an integrated
