Item Analysis Of A Fully Developed Laminar Flow B/w Two Parallel Plates Separated By A Distance By Using Comsol Multiphysics(University of Eloued جامعة الوادي, 2017-01-01) Raza, S. S.This is a short analysis of flowing water in an infinite channel separated by a distance by using a Simulation Software Comsol Multiphysics. The flow behavior and the interaction with the boundary has been analysed. Wall no slip conditions were set for evaluation purpose. The analysis is a steady state analysis by using Incompressible Navier Stokes Model.Item Analysis Of Metallurgical Aspects And Their Role In Processing And Performance Of Superalloys: A Review(University of Eloued جامعة الوادي, 2017-01-01) Raza, S. S.; Ahmad, T.; Manzoor, M. U.; Kamran, M.; Ahmad, R.Metallurgical processing factors like kinetic and thermodynamic parameters which are essential for modeling of γ′ phase precipitation have been studied. These parameters include γ′ solvus temperature, Gibbs free energy of dissociation of the γ matrix to form γ′, nucleation rate, effective diffusivity and interfacial energy. Nucleation methods and effect of cooling rate on the final phase structure have been analyzed. Co based superalloys have been studied as a potential and promising material for aerospace applications. Effect of microporosity on the mechanical properties of Superalloys has also been analyzed.Item Superalloys: An Introduction With Thermal Analysis(University of Eloued جامعة الوادي, 2015-09-01) Raza, S. S.Solidification studies of Alloy 718, Allvac 718plus and Waspaloy have been of great interest in the present study. Alloy 718 is a precipitation strengthened nickel-iron based alloy. Waspaloy, another precipitation strengthened nickel base superalloy, has a very good strength at temperatures up to ~750 °C whereas Allvac 718Plus is a newly developed nickel based precipitation strengthened superalloy which retains good mechanical properties at up to ~700 °C.These three alloys were investigated in terms of how their respective solidification process reveals upon cooling. Latent heat of solidification has been estimated for all three alloys.Differential thermal analyses (DTA) have been used to approach the task. It was seen that Waspaloy has the smallest solidification range whereas Allvac 718Plus has the largest solidification interval in comparison.Item Thermal, Electrochemical And Mechanical Properties Of Shape Memory Alloy Developed By A Conventional Processing Route(University of Eloued جامعة الوادي, 2017-05-01) Ahmad, T.; Malik, A. N.; Raza, S. S.; Kamran, M.; Manzoor, M. U.; Salman, A.; Hussain, F.; Riaz, F.; Ahmad, R.; Akhtar, M. N.A Cu based shape memory alloy (Cu-Al-Ni) having a composition 83% Cu, 14% Al, 3% Ni, was developed and studied to determine the shape memory effect. Powder of Cu, Al and Ni was melted in a pit furnace at about 15500C, and casted alloy was heat treated at 8500C for a period of 50 minutes followed by water quenching. Microstructure characterization of alloy (Cu-Al-Ni) was carried out to determine the pre-quenched (cast structure) and quenched martensitic structure. The microstructure analysis of developed samples showed needle like structure of quenched martensite after heat treatment. It has a very good resemblance with structure of casted shape memory alloy obtained from the vacuum induction process. The Vickers hardness test was also performed. Quenched microstructure with improved hardness than pre-quenched structure was observed.
