It is a difficult problem, mainly due to the fact that there is no clear and simple definition to fully the notion of license plates. This thesis focuses on the analysis of the methods of license plates namely mathematical morphology. It is a tool that can extract images of components used in pre or post-processing. Among the operators of the morphology, erosion is cited, expansion, opening and closing.
