Item Effect Of Copper On Passivity And Corrosionbehavior Of Fe-xc-5cu Alloy(University of Eloued جامعة الوادي, 2014-01-01) Ferhat, M.; Benchettara, A.; Amara, S. E.The correlation between corrosion behavior rate of annealed Fe-xC-5Cu alloys and their microstructure and phase composition is presented. The metallurgical analyses, including, X-Ray diffraction (XRD), the scanning electron microscopy (SEM) with energy dispersive analysis (EDX), and induction hardening characterization are conducted to study the Fe-C-Cu alloys.Corrosion parameters in H2SO4 1N solution have been established by carrying out electrochemical studies such as potentiodynamic (Tafel polarization and linear polarization, LP) and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS).The coupled effect copper/microstructure is discussed. Alloying Cu showed a beneficial effecton hypoeutectoid steel and harmful effect on hypereutectoid steel. The improved corrosion resistance is related to cementite morphology and by a copper dissolution/re-deposition process.Item Electrochemical Determination Of Ethanol, 2- Propanol And 1-butanolon Glassy Carbon Electrode Modified With Nickel Oxide Film(University of Eloued جامعة الوادي, 2014-07-01) Benchettara, A.In this work, we present the modification of a glassy carbon electrode with nickel oxide film which is performed in two successive steps. In the first one, the electrochemical deposition of metallic nickel on the glassy carbon electrode (GCE) is achieved in 0.1M boric acid; in the second step, the metallic deposit is anodically oxidized in 0.1M NaOH. These two operations were carried out in a three electrode cell with a filiform platinum auxiliary electrode, a SCE as potential reference and a working microelectrode of modified glassy carbon with nickel oxides. This electrode is characterized by several electrochemical techniques and is used for the catalytic determination of ethanol, 2-propanol and 1-butanol in 0.1 M NaOH. The proposed chemical mechanism shows that NiO2 acts as a mediator.Item Influence Of Fluoride On The Electrochemical Behvior Of A New Synthesized Ti-10ta-2mo Alloy For Biomedical Applications(University of Eloued جامعة الوادي, 2016-09-01) Sadi Oufella, L.; Benchettara, A.The aim of the present study is to investigate the corrosion resistance of a new synthesized Ti-10Ta-2Mo in 0.9%NaCl solution containing different NaF concentrations using electrochemical techniques, including open circuit potential, potentiodynamic polarization, cyclic voltammetry and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy. The results showed that Ti-10Ta-2Mo exhibits a good corrosion resistance in 0.9% NaCl as well as in 0.9%NaCl containing fluoride and even in acidified 0.9% NaCl free of fluoride ion. Very low corrosion current densities and high impedance values were obtained, indicating the passive behavior of the alloy. An active state was observed in acidified 0.9%NaCl of pH 2 in the presence of fluoride. The results showed that Ti-10Ta-2Mo is more appropriate than some materials cited in the literature, suggesting its suitability for biomedical applications.
