    "عرف الإستثمار الأجنبي المباشر تطورا هائلا منذ منتصف ثمانينات القرن المنصرم، كما حصل تحول واضح في تركيبته القطاعية، وشهدت أنماطه تغيرات معتبرة كان أبرزها الزيادة في الوزن النسبي للإقتصاديات النامية كمقصد وصدر لهذا النوع من الإستثمار. وتشير الإحصائيات إلى أن معظم الدول المغاربية استطاعت في السنوات الأخيرة تسجيل زيادات معتبرة في حجم الاستثمارات الأجنبية المباشرة الواردة بفعل التحسن الكبير الذي شهدته بيئة الأعمال. غير أن هذه الإستثمارات تركزت بقوة في قطاعات معينة وهو ما يشير إلى عدم التنوع الإقتصادي لهذه الدول. بينما اتسمت الاستثمارات بالمحدودية إذا ما تم مقارنتها بنظيراتها من التكتلات الأخرى، الشيء الذي يعكس ضعف درجة إندماجها التجاري والمالي. ""Since the mid-1980s, foreign direct investment has grown considerably; its sectorial distribution has seen a significant change and has undergone considerable changes in its forms, including the increase in the relative weight of economies in development as a destination and source for this type of investment. Statistics show that most countries in the Maghreb have been able to realize a significant increase in foreign direct investment flows in recent years, due to the improvement of the business environment. However, these investments have been heavily concentrated in some sectors, reflecting the lack of economic diversity in these countries. On the other hand, investments within countries have been limited compared to other economic groupings, reflecting the low level of trade and financial integration of the Maghreb countries. "
