    تهدف هذه الورقة الى دراسة الأهمية الجيوستراتيجية لمنطقة جنوب شرق آسيا وأهم قضاياها المحورية بالنسبة للولايات المتحدة الأمريكية، فالمنطقة عرفت صدامات باختلال توازن القوى فيها لصالح الصين، ما دفع بالولايات المتحدة سعيا لترسيخ نفوذها في المنطقة إلى انتهاج استراتيجية متمايزة بين الشراكة بغرض الاحتواء أو ما عرفت باستراتيجية الانعطاف نحو آسيا، والاحتواء الذي بات واضحا بعد تغير الخطاب الرسمي الأمريكي الموجه للصين في فترة رئاسة "دونالد ترامب" وانتهاجه نهجا عدائيا للحفاظ على" أمريكا أولا"، لنستنتج أن صعود الصين المتنامي جعل الولايات المتحدة تتخوف من تحولها الى قوة إقليمية مهيمنة بالتالي عمدت إلى ترسيخ وجودها في منطقة جنوب شرق آسيا للحفاظ على علاقات جيدة مع دول المنطقة من جهة ولاحتواء الصين وموازنة نفوذها من جهة أخرى. Abstract: This paper aims to study the geostrategic importance of the Southeast Asia region for the USA, the region has witnessed several clashes due to the imbalance of power in it in favor of China, which prompted the United States, in an effort to consolidate its influence in the region, to adopt a differentiated strategy between partnership for the purpose of containment, and containment, To conclude, China’s growing rise made the USA fear that it would turn into a hegemonic regional power. Therefore, it sought to consolidate its presence in the Southeast Asian region to maintain good relations with the countries of the region, and to contain China and balance its influence.
