Abstract

The salinity of soil and water, is one of the main a biotic factors that limit plant productivity and yield, interest in the morphological characters and biochemical composition of plants, However, most plants have several mechanisms to decrease the negative effects of salinity including regulation and compartmentalization of ions, synthesis of compatible solutes, induction of antioxidants, enzymes, plant hormones, and changes in the photosynthetic pathway. Many of the plants are exposed to salt stress in this study have a macrophyte plant is a Lemna minor distinguished by their very important role as a source of nutrition of several animals and filtration and water purification. This study was conducted to test the effect of salinity by increasing Na Cl concentration in the culture media lemna minor strains which one is witnessing, and on the other hand, to prove the ability of this resistant plant salinity and mechanism of resistance this stress. Biochemical and physiological analyzes give results, they highlight the effect of salinity on these plants, with an increase in the levels of certain biochemical parameters such as sugars and proteins, and also in the decrease of others such as chlorophylls (a, b , a+ b) and an alteration of form and decrease of growth of Lemna minor.
