Abstract
اهتم النوميديون بتربية الخيول اهتماما كبيرا من أجل استغلالها في عدة أغراض منها: التنقلات والصيد والحرب، وتتميز الخيول النوميدية بالسرعة والقدرة على تحمل المشاق والصبر على الجوع والعطش، ولهذا قد عمل الإغريق و بعدهم الرومان على التزوّد بها في شكل واردات أو ضرائب. ومن جهة أخرى فقد كان النوميديون فرسانا مهرة يحسنون ركوب الخيل سواء في السلم أو الحرب دون استعمال الأعنة أو السروج في الدفاع ممالكهم، كما شاركوا كحلفاء بفرق مساعدة في الجيوش القرطاجية والرومانية في عدة حروب محليا وخارجيا. ولأهمية الحصان في حياة النوميديين فقد رسموه على مختلف المصادر المادية كالرسوم والنقوش الصخرية والعملات والأنصاب ومشاهد الفسيفساء. Numidians interested so much in breeding horses for using them in many purposes, for
instance, transportation, hunting and war. Numidians’ horses characterized by the speed,
the ability of harden and patient on hunger and thirst. Therefore, the Greeks and Romans
did so to get them in a form of imports or taxes.
However, Numidians were skillful knights mastering the ride of horses either in peace or
in war without using reins and saddles for defending their kingdoms. They also
participated as allies with helping teams in Carthagians and Romanians armies in a lot of
wars locally and externally.
So, because of the horse importance in Numidians life, they drew him on materialistic
sources such as, petroglyphs, drawings, currencies, monuments and mosaics’ sights.
