Abstract

The aim of this study was to estimate the anti-oxidative activity of the extract of the oil rapeseed plant Brassica napus obtained from Oum Tiour area, Meghaier state. Through preliminary chemical counting, we found that rapeseed contains flavonoids, alkaloids, saponins, tannins, sterols, triterpenes and reference compounds and is rich in oils. To determine the antioxidant activity, a methanolic extract was prepared, which gave an estimated yield of 6.274%, and the amount of polyphenols and flavonoids in the methanolic extract was estimated as µgAG E/mg EX 0.43±133.7 and µg Qu E/mg EX16.28±81.48. The oil was also extracted using Soxley, and the yield was 37.6%. To estimate the antioxidant activity, the activity was studied using free radical DPPH (the largest activity in inhibiting free radicals was in the methanolic extract g/ml, which was estimated at IC50 = 51.90 µg/ml, while the activity of the oil was estimated at IC50 = 41.62 ± 3.45 mg/ml.
