The constitutions of Algeria, Tunisia and Morocco were enshrined by constitutional councils; But the changes in the region have prompted their countries to make constitutional amendments. The new Moroccan Constitution was the first to emerge in 2011, followed by the Tunisian constitution in 2014, and finally the Algerian amendments in 2016. These amendments gave, for the first time, individuals the right to invoke unconstitutionality.
