University of Eloued .https://dspace.univ-eloued.dz/handle/123456789/37174Master's Degree In Literature and CivilizationThis thesis provides an analysis of the official speeches of Abu Oubeida (the spokesperson for Hamas) and Avichai Adraee (the spokesperson for the Israeli Occupation Defense Forces) during the 2021 Gaza War. The study used Van Dijk’s Critical Discourse Analysis (CDA) model to examine how both spokesmen construct their statements to influence public opinion and reinforce political ideologies. The analysis reveals how each one uses language to justify their actions and denounce the opponent. It is found that both of them used similar linguistic and ideological strategies, but the speech of Abu Oubeida is more authentic and influential because his arguments are based on real historical background and strong political ideologies.
