This study addressed the contribution of Djelfa people in preserving the Algerian national identity and standing against all attempts to obscure it, especially during the French colonization of Algeria, by discussing at first the concept of identity, the French policy in obscuring the elements of the Algerian national identity during a period of more than one century and thirty years such as Arabic language and Islam.
