The current study aims to reveal the actual causes that led America to invade Iraq and highlights the consequences of the American military operation on Iraq and its people. Regarding research methodology, the historical method was adopted by using description, statistics, and analysis to accurately analyze key drivers that were taken by the decision makers in the United States to intervene in Iraq. As for the main results reached, the causes of the military intervention were to plunder Iraqi oil and to overthrow Saddam Hussein's regime.
