This paper presents a comparative study of the most powerful control strategies for motor: field-oriented control and backstepping control. The awaited goal is to evaluate the proposed approaches which gives the best performance under open phase fault conditions. The performance of the two control approaches verified and compared by simulation. Provided tests analyze steady and transient states, including an open-phase fault condition.
