The present paper discusses the state of art of modulation strategies, and mathematical modeling techniques that are best suited to simulate large HVDC systems including the OWF which rise the challenge for computing capacity. Moreover, a test system is proposed to demonstrate the performance of the chosen techniques under convenient scenarios. Overall, this work will provide a complementary guide and a shortcut to pertinent literature touching this research fieldenMMCHVDCVSCwind farmcontrolModular Multi-level Converter Based HVDC Systems Integrating Offshore Wind FarmIntervention
