Reducing water loss in distribution networks can help preserve a scarce resource. The low number of meters and the intermittent distribution make it difficult to quantify leaks. This research presents, on the one hand, an analysis of the demand in the region of La commun d´El oued in southern Algeria, based on an extrapolation from a panel of subscribers for whom abstraction data is available. The comparison with the volumes produced and the flow measurements make it possible to assess the water losses in the distribution system. On the other hand, a process for assessing and analyzing the reliability of distribution systems based on knowledge of technical performance parameters and indicators.
